STUDENT INFORMATION1. 6th grade boys basketball tryouts will be December 11th from
4-5:30. Tryouts will be held at TJHS. Pick up a waiver in the office or from the coach.
2. 5th grade TYS boys basketball tryouts will be Monday, December 10th from 6:00-7:30
at TJHS.
3. 7th grade girls volleyball tryouts will be Dec. 12th from 5:30-7:30 and Dec. 13th from
3:30 to 5:30 at TJHS. Please sign up in the office by Friday if you are trying out.
4. 8th grade girls volleyball tryouts will be Dec. 12th from 3:30 to 5:30 at TJHS and Dec.
13th from 3:30-5:30 at North.
5. The 6th grade is having a food drive from now until December 14th. All grades
please bring in food items for the food pantry.
6. Chromebooks will be collected in the HOT spot on December 20th and 21st. If any 7th
or 8th grade student is leaving school before those dates, they need to brought in
ahead of time.
7. Friday, December 14th will be tacky sweater day.
8. Please check the lost and found table outside the office.
9. The school level competition for the 31st annual National Geographic Bee will be here
soon! All seventh grade students will be participating through their geography classes
on December 10th -14th, while sixth and eighth grade students may choose to compete
during their homeroom on Wednesday, December 12th and Thursday, December 13th.
Sixth and eighth graders interested in participating need to sign up in the office by
Monday, December 10th. Finalists will be determined before the holiday break.
Finalists will then compete in January to determine the school-level winner. Anyone
wanting more information needs to see Mrs. Foil, Mrs. Rice, or Mr. Nieves. Sixth and
Eighth grade students interested in participating need to sign up in the office by

10. Please remember that all students must have a signed hall pass to see the nurse.
Students may not visit the nurse between passing periods without a pass. Exceptions
are during lunch/recess, pe and emergencies.
11. The Yearbook club will meet after school today in Mrs. Elliot’s room.
12. There will be a speech contest meeting on 12/11 after school in Mr. Hill’s room. Please
have speech contracts turned in by today. Sign up for practice time on Mr. Hill’s door.
13. The TJHS Newspaper Club has brought back the Teacher of the Month Awards. Since
every homeroom does not have a Google Classroom, Mrs. Mitchell has posted the
polls for December Teacher of the Month. There are polls for 5th-8th grade and one for
exploratory teachers. Please vote for your current grade. Everyone may vote for one
exploratory teacher and write the reason in the box. Ask Mrs. Febus for more
Information.
14. The Builder’s Club will meet 12/11 at their display in the park. The Builder’s Club is
working the Booth at Christmas in the Park from 5-7 tomorrow evening.
