Happy Birthday to the following students who are celebrating birthdays: Kynlee Callawy

The October trait of the month is kindness. Kindness is defined as being friendly, generous and considerate. 

School pictures will be taken today during pe hours. Please take your form with you to pe and give to the photographer.

The Student Council Dance will be October 28th. The 5th and 6th grade will attend from 5-6:30 and 7th and 8th from 7-8:30. The Dance is free and concessions will will be available. Only TJHS students will be able to participate.

All Students should check school email for the TJHS Booster Club Tornado Gear Fundraiser. There are some really great options for sweatshirts, t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts!

Please remember that if you take out a kickball, basketball, or other equipment at recess, you are responsible for bringing it back in when recess ends.  Lots of equipment is being left outside after recess.  If it continues, students will no longer be able to take basketballs and other equipment outside. 

Please check the Lost and Found table for any items that you may have lost. Unclaimed items will be donated in the next few days.

Wrestling sign ups will be Monday, October 23 and Tuesday, October 24 from 6-7 pm at North School.

The TJHS student Council will meet today in the Hot Spot during 9th hour. Student Council members please check the StuCo Google Classroom for information.

 

The Christian County YMCA is hosting teen Center this Friday, October 21, from 6-10. Teen Center is open to all 6-8 garage students.

 

The THS Student Council is hosting a Gold Walk this Saturday from 10-12 at the high school track. If you are interested in walking to raise money for a high school student affected by cancer, please pick up a form in the office. All money raised from this event will benefit the student and his family.

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams for their victories over Decatur Catholic Schools.  Good luck to the girls tonight as they take on Chatham tonight at home in the North School gym.  The 7th grade game starts at 5:30 followed by the 8th grade game at 6:45.  Let's show some school spirit and pack the place!

Boys Basketball tryouts will be October 17th. You can sign up now in the office. You must have a current physical on file to try out. If you do not have one you will not be allowed to try out.

Happy Birthday to the following students who celebrated birthdays over the weekend or are celebrating one today: Hunter Gatons, Nora Thomas, Logan Austif, Leigha Donaldson, and Trenton Murphy.

Any student interested in participating in an indoor soccer league in Springfield can pick up a flier in the office.

The overall best attendance rate for September goes to the 5th graders. Awesome job! You will have Subway cookies on October 7th. The next monthly reward will be a dilly bar. Keep working hard to get to school! 

Congratulations to the 8th grade girls who won their tournament over the weekend.

Meet me at the Flagpole will take place on Wednesday, October 5th at 7:30 am by the flagpole in front of the school.
