STUDENT INFORMATION
1. Good luck to the 7th & 8th grade Girls Volleyball teams today at Chatham Glenwood. Matches begin at 5:30.
2. Good luck to the 6th grade Girls Taylorville Youth Volleyball team at Chatham Glenwood today starting at 4:30.
3. Good luck to the 6th grade Boys Taylorville Youth Basketball team against Effingham’s St. Anthony team. Game time is at 6:00 in the Junior High Gym.
4. Geography Bee Finals were last night with Will Turvey, Chris Hartwig, Wesley Powers, Wesley Fore strongly participating. Congratulations to Dylan Jones 3rd Place, Runner-up - Madelyn Beaty, and the 2018 Geography Bee winner, Daniel Sloan. Congratulations to all participants!
5. The Newspaper Club will meet in Mrs. Richardson’s room (106) today from 3:15 to 3:45.
6. Chess Tournament will be today in Mr. Hill’s room (107) after school until 4:00.
7. Scholastic Bowl meeting for interested 6-8th graders, will be in Mr Burch’s room (205) today from 3:15 to 3:30. If you have a conflict with that time, just see Mr Burch.
8. Group Picture Day is next Friday, January 19th. 6th grade Taylorville Youth Volleyball team and Junior High Wrestlers need to pick up picture order forms from the office.
9. The Drama Club will be hosting its annual clinic with auditions. It is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The clinic days begin THIS Friday, Jan. 12th, after school in the cafeteria - and continues next week Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 16 & 17th, also in the cafeteria. The audition for the comedy/western, "The Brothers O'Toole" will Thursday and Friday, Jan. 18th & 19th, in the forum. All meetings are after school, 3:15-5:00 P.M. Directors will be be double casting for up to 14 males and 20 females.
10. The Annual Boys P.E. Volleyball Tourney is tomorrow and will follow this schedule: 7th grade will play 1st and 2nd hours; 8th grade plays during 4th and 5th hours; 6th grade tournament is 7th and 8th hours. Students may attend at their teachers’ discretion.
11. The Taylorville Junior Tornadoes Dance Clinic will be February 3rd. Registration fees are $30 and the deadline is January 22nd. Complete information about the clinic is in the office.
